The Utah County Association of REALTORS® (UCAR) is a proud sponsor of Provo’s “First Flight” to take place June 21 from the recently renovated Provo Municipal Airport to Denver International Airport. The flight will be filled with elected officials, travel industry people, and business leaders, including Taylor Oldroyd, UCAR CEO, Chris Nichols, 2011 UCAR president, and Bill Freeze, 2011 UCAR treasurer.
“We are thrilled to participate in this significant step for development in Utah County,” says Nichols. “This is a great milestone reflective of the economic growth and success our community has had.”
Commuter service in and out of the Provo Municipal Airport will be through Frontier Airlines and will offer a daily roundtrip flight to Denver, where flyers can make connections to points across the country and world.
Provo City has been working toward offering commercial air service for many years but was able to finalize and complete the process with help from a $500,000 federal grant provided for airport improvements, as well as marketing and advertising.
“The state has received a lot of attention lately for its positive business environment and high quality of life,” says Oldroyd. “We believe the partnership between Frontier Airlines and Provo City will positively affect the economic stability of Utah County which, in turn, will positively affect the real estate market.”
