Taylor Oldroyd, CEO of the Utah County Association of
REALTORS®, is pleased to accept an appointment from Governor Gary Herbert to serve on the Advisory Council on Optimizing and Streamlining State Government.
“I’m honored to have been selected as a member of this council,” Oldroyd says. “Governor Herbert is a great leader who works proactively to improve service to the state of Utah.”
The council was established following the approval and adoption of H.B. 280 State Agency Realignment. Governor Herbert announced the council earlier this month and intends for it to evaluate and improve how state services are provided to Utah residents. The council will meet for the first time at 2 p.m. June 30 in the State Capitol Board Room in the State Capitol.
“While Utah has been recognized as the Best Managed State in America, there is always room to evaluate and improve how we serve Utah,” Herbert says. “In that spirit, this council will consider agency consolidation, reducing costs, incorporating best practices and streamlining services. This isn’t just about doing it cheaper; it’s about doing it better.”
Oldroyd recognizes that Utah families are making difficult financial decisions and that government needs to do the same.
“This opportunity offers a great setting to promote good government—government that recognizes that individuals and families have had to make difficult budget decisions,” Oldroyd says. “If Utah families can make the hard call, government should also explore efficiencies and savings.”
The council will be chaired by Val Oveson, C.P.A. and former state auditor and Lt. governor. Oveson is recognized for his leadership in streamlining state government. Below is a complete list of council members.
